Hi All!
Hope your week is going well so far. I can’t believe that I’ve been sending out this newsletter for 32 continuous weeks already. It feels like we started just a few weeks ago, but here we are.
Before you head into the weekend, I wanted to send you my weekly list of tips and tricks to stay on top of your goals. This week’s emphasis is on finding your passion. I hope you enjoy it.
1. “Childhood dreams are forever stuffed in our souls. Take them out and play sometimes.” — Angie Weiland-Crosby
Think back to when you were a child. Isn’t it true that you had big dreams back then? Perhaps you wanted to go to space or become a professional soccer player like me.
Your childhood dreams stick with you for much longer than you might think. Though you may not feel like pursuing them at this stage in your life, you’ll still enjoy yourself if you spend some time on them.
2. “Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going. Tough situations build strong people in the end.” ― Roy Bennett
Whenever you find yourself struggling at work, school, or home, remember that you’re finding yourself in a temporary phase. Challenging times don’t last forever. Once they’ve passed, you get to enjoy the results of your perseverance. It’s like climbing a tall mountain; The way to the top is challenging, but once there, you get to enjoy a breathtaking view of the landscape surrounding you.
3. “The path to finding a new passion is time-consuming, but one well-worth travelling.” ― Mike van der Poel
In this week’s blog post, “How Do You Know You Are Passionate About Something?“, I show how the process of finding your passion is counterintuitive. Many of us believe that we are born with strong interests, but it doesn’t work that way. Passion takes a little bit of discovery, followed by a lot of development, and then a lifetime of deepening.
Until next week,
Mike van der Poel
