1. “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas A. Edison
Failure is part of success, although we might feel tempted to stop after a big setback. Failures give us the opportunity to learn from our mistakes and take preventative measures. It also makes you appreciate success so much more.
We sometimes forget that all successful people have failed at one point. What sets them apart from the rest, is that they didn’t stop once the going got tough. They got back up and tried again, time after time. The same must be true for you if you want to stay on track with your goals.
2. “The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” ― Randy Pausch
3. “Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.” ― Lance Armstrong
When you fold on a business, there’s usually no going back. This is especially true if you’ve invested a lot of time into it. Laying off workers, ending your office lease, no longer serving your clients – these are all things that are hard to undo.
When you’re contemplating about quitting, see if you can hold on a little longer. Can you make it another 14 days? What about another 30? Perhaps by that time, you’ve found a solution or met someone who can guide you in the right direction. Success is for those who can hold on the longest.
Until next week,
