Hi All!
I hope your week is off to a great start. As always, here are your weekly tips and tricks to keep you on track with your goals in life and business.
1. “You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming.”― Pablo Neruda
We can’t fight against every storm in life, so sometimes we need to stand firm and wait for the storm to pass. If you’re currently going through a tough time in your life, and you see no end in sight, know that just like the seasons change, your situation will eventually improve, too.
2. “Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.” ― Alexander Pope
Disappointment happens when an outcome doesn’t align with our expectations. When we strongly believe that something will happen, we can set ourselves up for discouragement, which in some cases, can overwhelm us to the point that we abandon our goals.
In this week’s article, What If It All Works Out? Everything Your Anxiety Is Telling You Is False, I write about our tendency to always want to predict the outcome, and how that leads to anxiety.
3. “I like the night. Without the dark, we’d never see the stars.” ― Stephenie Meyer
You can’t appreciate the good times without first going through the bad. This is true for anything in life, whether it be your work, relationships, or health. We need to have a baseline for what it means to be doing well.
Until next week,
Mike van der Poel
